A Plea of the Hill touched my heart!
59
Standing on the top of a hill
I take bird's eye view of the town,
The sight is so lovely , can’t express in words,
I wouldn’t like to hurry and get down.
The roads, the bridges and the rivers,
The huge trees, buildings and all,
Look as beautiful as a picture
I see them all ever so small.
Vehicles are plying on the road,
Moving straight, left and right,
They look smaller and smaller as they move,
And slowly they go out of sight.
People on the street look so busy,
I see children on the ground as they play,
No sound from the town I can hear,
I am high up and quite far away.
I am beginning to feel lonely,
And now very slowly getting down,
I would like to be in the midst of people,
I can’t wait to reach the town.
The hill stands there in despair,
A kind of helpless look I can see
Telling me ‘I am missing you so much,
Please come soon and be with me’.
I listen to the words and gaze at the hill,
Yes, I must go up there again,
And spend a good deal of time there as often as I can
both in the sunlight and in the rain.

so sweet... i like that you give human qualities to the hill. i suppose all life forms need a companion.
voted up and beautiful.
This is a wonderful poem. voted you up and beautiful
Even though we enjoy evryday living now and then we need to climb that hill and separate ourselves from it all.
To soak up the beauty and replenish our souls with peace. Then we can rejoin the world and enjoy what is around us once again.
I loved this poem and love the way you humanised the hill.

Hello Kamalesh050. Nice share! I like to read it so much. Specially this part :
The hill stands there in despair,
A kind of helpless look I can see
Telling me ‘I am missing you so much,
Please come soon and be with me’.
