Whimsical mind

A writing pad, pen and pencil

Lying ready on my table

I won’t sleep tonight

Write a story or a fable

A cup of hot tea in my hand

I sit on a chair

I had other thoughts

But for the time I don’t care

I must write something

be whatever that may

and finish it off nicely

before beginning of next day

Everyone is fast asleep

Only clock’s ticking I can hear

I close my eyes, think what to write

The concept is coming clear

The wind blows, windows rattle

with the sound of thunder

I jump up from my chair

And then I start to wonder

Is it the right time to write

Or should I be in bed

Have a good night sleep

And write tomorrow instead?

Rain comes and pours heavily

Lightning I can see

A chilly night, best place is bed

Well where else it could be ?

So I am off to bed

with the sudden change in my plan

I would rather write tomorrow

Or as soon as I can

May be I shall have a dream

a new concept I shall find

A lot better than what tonight

I had in my mind
